Hi, friends! Come back again with me, of course, after quite a long time I didn't update my blog post, and of course again, always because of the office work, which is nothing like that. Well, this time, I will share a little about my experience during the Eid holiday yesterday in Belitung.
Yeap! Belitung, an island off the east coast of Sumatra which is famous for its marine tourism, integrated is also synonymous with BaBel (Bangka Belitung islands), because of its real distance. The two islands are still close together.
But well, this time it's not the tourist that I will discuss, but more about local food that is really good if I think. So, let's see what can be eaten in Belitung!
Yammien Achoi
One of the most famous breakfast places in West Belitung! In fact, we were pretty handsome to be able to try this Yammien Achoi, and immediately learned how to try it on the first day we came to Belitung. 1 yammien portion for Rp. 25k, and include 1 cup of soup with 5 pcs of meatballs / dumplings. Taste wise? Well typical of savory bangka noodles, fragrant garlic, and certainly not halal.
Rumah Makan Fega
The location is in East Belitung and this is one of the restaurants that is always served as a stopover for those of you who take part in the tour. Well, I didn't take the tour yesterday, but because we don't know too much information about where to eat in East Belitung, and the famous taunya is this, it's been tried too. The good thing about Belitung, according to me, is that the seafood prices are quite affordable, but for this Fega RM, because he's already quite famous, it tends to be rather expensive for the restaurant category in Belitung.
But still, you better go with seafood rather than others. Imagine, the price of fried chicken per piece is Rp. 25k. Very expensive for the price of Belitung!
Foods was actually good! We are trying the typical Belitung Fish Gangan, which I think is amazing! The taste of turmeric, savory and fresh from the pineapple blends well!
You know what it is!
The downside is just the service, which is, TERRIBLE and SUPER SLOW! It should be a good journey if this just never happened actually!
Kota 1001 Coffee Shop
The Manggar area in East Belitung is nicknamed Kota 1001 Warung Kopi, not without reason, bro Sis sis. But in reality, every road a few meters, you will find a coffee shop while you are in this area. Well, I entered carelessly, forgot what the name of the place really was, but their coffee was just good!
Belitong Restaurant Timpo Duluk
This place is said to be famous for typical Belitung food, and when it comes to famous local food, we could leave without giving a try!
Try Bone Set for 4 people (Rp.240k). It's from the culture with them to eat together as well as hospitality. And the food is served in a container called Dulang. That's the story, sir! It contains a variety of typical Belitung foods, from Gangan Fish, Coriander Chicken, Fish Satay, Ati Ampela, Lalapan and Sambal Serai. Recommended for sharing, but personally, the Gangan is still better which is in Fega RM if I think it's more balanced. It's like there's something overpowering here.
Bakmi Kai Cai
Well according to local people, this also includes one of the famous noodles. Even he said, local people prefer the Bakmi Kai Cai compared to Yammien Achoi. The place is in the alley, you can use Waze, don't worry, just look for the parking lot, it's just PR.
Personally, according to me, it doesn't feel much different, but the texture of the noodles here is more soft and soft. In Achoi, it is more difficult if the Italian says.
If Bakmi Achoi can still buy up a little later, if Bakmi Kai Cai at 11 am it is closed. So, make sure you don't miss it and run out!
Dynasty Restaurant
If Jakarta has Angke Restaurant, now in Belitung there is also a comparable champion, Dynasty Restaurant. The place is big, and is often used for wedding events. And so surely, the champion here is more to Chinese Food.
What is memorable for me and can not be until forgetfulness is the Crab Crab, one of the typical foods of Belitung. Basically the crab meat is refined and made a kind of meatball and put in the crab shell before being fried.
Mie Belitung Atep
Belitung noodles with thick sauce from curry shrimp, bean sprouts, tofu and chips. The portions aren't too big, so don't even think about sharing. Taste wise, quite good, but not my kind of noodle.
Coffee Kong Djie & Kopi Ake Belitung
Well, EVERY DAY while in Belitung, want to go to the morning, want to go to the afternoon or late, there is always time to stop by the coffee shop here. Kong Djie coffee is quite a lot of branches and easy to find, there are even some branches that are open until evening (or even 24 hours? Not really sure).
What is mandatory in Coffee Kong Djie is the fried banana! Fat, crunchy, sweet, and a large
portion!Songsui, Kwetiau, Fried Vermicelli
Other daily foods that are easily found in Belitung are Fried Noodles, Rice Noodles, Capcay Rice, and of course Songsui (Pork Soup)
Style songs in Belitung, the color of the sauce is red, because they use Angkak. Basically, we tried a number of random places, and mostly it's delicious. So keep exploring! Because I also can't info-in which one is the best in town
Batu Garuda Seafood RM
Last but not least, if you plan to go to the Tanjung Kelayang Beach area, make sure to stop by the Batu Garuda Seafood RM. Again, please rely on google maps / waze, and the location is a bit entered.
The view is directly to the beach, and you can also relax in the existing lodges. Play sand playing too!
